1. Acceptance
By using Ahlchemy Coin Vault ("the App"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What the App is
The App is an informational tool that helps you triage, identify, and estimate the raw-metal ("melt") and possible collector value of coins, and keep a personal collection. It is provided by Ahlchemy Author Company for your own use.
3. Acceptable use & your content
You agree not to misuse the App, including by attempting to overload, probe, or circumvent its security or rate limits, or by uploading unlawful content. You keep ownership of the coin photos and notes you add ("your content"). You grant us a limited, revocable license to host and process your content solely to operate the App for you (identify your coin, compute values, store your collection). The App has no public or shared spaces; we do not publish your content.
4. Coin valuation & authenticity — important
ALL IDENTIFICATIONS, MELT VALUES, METAL-CONTENT FIGURES, COLLECTOR-VALUE RANGES, GRADE ESTIMATES, "VARIETIES TO CHECK," AND AUTHENTICITY FLAGS ARE AUTOMATED ESTIMATES FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THEY ARE NOT AN APPRAISAL, NOT A CERTIFICATION OF AUTHENTICITY, GRADE, OR METAL CONTENT, AND NOT FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, OR TAX ADVICE.
Metal spot rates may be delayed or stale, and an estimate's accuracy depends on your photos and on factors a photo cannot show. Do not rely on the App alone to buy, sell, insure, melt, or otherwise make decisions about any coin. For anything of consequence, consult a qualified numismatist, a professional grading service (such as PCGS or NGC), and current market data.
5. Pro: purchases, auto-renewal & cancellation
Pro unlocks additional features. You may buy it two ways, through our payment processor Stripe, in secure checkout presented within the App:
- Lifetime — a one-time payment (displayed at checkout, currently $99). No renewal. “Lifetime” means the operational lifetime of the App, not the purchaser’s lifetime — see the note below.
- Yearly — an auto-renewing annual subscription (displayed at checkout, currently $19.99/year).
What “Lifetime” means. A Lifetime unlock lasts for the operational lifetime of the Ahlchemy Coin Vault application — not the natural life of the purchaser. It grants access to the Pro features for as long as we continue to operate the App. It is a license tied to the App, is not a personal-lifetime guarantee, and is non-transferable. If we discontinue or materially wind down the App, Pro access may end; we will give reasonable notice where practical. Apart from the 14-day refund window below, a Lifetime purchase is not pro-rated or refundable upon discontinuation except where required by law.
AUTO-RENEWAL NOTICE — YEARLY PLAN: YOUR YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION AUTOMATICALLY RENEWS EACH YEAR AND YOUR PAYMENT METHOD IS CHARGED THE THEN-CURRENT PRICE UNTIL YOU CANCEL. YOU AUTHORIZE THESE RECURRING CHARGES.
Cancel anytime — as easily as you subscribed. From the App's "More" tab, "Manage / cancel subscription" opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel in a few clicks; access continues through the end of the paid period. Lifetime purchases have nothing to cancel.
Refunds. The Lifetime purchase may be refunded within 14 days of purchase on request to admin@ahlchemy.org. A yearly subscription may be cancelled at any time to stop future renewals; the current period is non-refundable except where required by law. An unlock applies to your use of the App across your devices.
6. Disclaimers of warranty
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY OF ACCURACY OF IDENTIFICATION, VALUATION, GRADING, OR AUTHENTICITY DETECTION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AHLCHEMY AUTHOR COMPANY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ahlchemy Author Company from claims and costs arising out of your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms or of applicable law.
9. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before any formal proceeding, the parties will attempt to resolve the dispute informally for thirty (30) days after written notice to admin@ahlchemy.org. If unresolved, the dispute will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, seated in Webster County, Missouri (or conducted virtually for claims under $10,000). You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.
10. App-store terms
If you obtain the App through a third-party app store (Apple App Store, Google Play, or Microsoft Store), that store's terms also apply, and the store provider is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms entitled to enforce them. You represent that you are not located in an embargoed jurisdiction or on a prohibited-party list.
11. Export compliance
You agree to use the App in compliance with applicable U.S. export-control and sanctions laws, and not to export or re-export it where prohibited.
12. Changes, severability & contact
We may modify these Terms; the effective date above will change and, for material changes, we will give reasonable notice in the App. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the App. Contact: admin@ahlchemy.org.
